Hello, I am looking for details of my gg grandfather who, according to the 1881 Census was born in Goginen in 1844. I haven't yet found him on the BMD fiche but where would I apply for a copy of his birth certificate please? Am I on the correct list for such a query? Regards, Noel Horlock

Am I on the correct list for such a query? ============== Dear Noel, Goginan is six miles east of Aberystwyth and is in the township of Melindwr, in the parish of Llanbadarn Fawr, Cardiganshire, so you are indeed on the correct mailing list. You can check which register office holds the necessary records by visiting the relevant page of the GENUKI website. Go to http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/blangston/genuki/reg/ This GENUKI webpage offers a user-friendly listing of Register Offices, classified by county. It gives a very useful breakdown of exactly which villages, etc., were covered by which Register Office at which dates, and also includes the addresses from which Certificates may currently be purchased.
