    3. Could you look up to see if a David Thomas was born in 1761 in Llandyssil Parish, Cardiganshire or if he was not born in that parish, if he was born in Cardiganshire. I am interested in his parents names and also a brother (unnamed) born to his parents. Thank you for any help. Jerry Thomas

    3. Jerry, Unfortunately, there's no published index to births for that time. If you suspect he was born in the parish of Llandysul (there's also a Llandysul/Llandyssil in Montgomeryshire, by the way), it would appear you'll have trouble locating a baptism in either the original parish register (baptisms begin 1798 -- earlier registers apparently lost) or in the Bishop's Transcripts (filmed by the LDS/Mormons).
