Valerie, As the birth years you've quoted for Sarah (1813 or 1816) and Thomas (1824) pre-date civil registration, you will not be able to obtain birth *certificates* for either of them, only their baptism entries, if you can find them in the indicated parish church or nonconformist chapel of the area, but these will not (unless they're christened in a Calvinistic Methodist chapel) include the mothers' maiden names -- if you're lucky, the abode will help identify the right baptism but they didn't always include the abode in the entry.
