Hi Ann Doesn't read to me like a Welsh name as written. Nothing jumps out as an alternative spelling either - Welsh names anyway. I think there was an Italian F1 racing driver of that name, may still be of course, no I don't think he drove for Williams :-) On the assumption that it could be a misinterpretation of a Welsh name, is it an exact photocopy of the original entry that you have ? If so I don't mind if you send me a scan for a second opinion, just the bit that matters. If it's a handwritten certified copy I suggest you query the name with the office that issued it. On the original register entry it's a witness's signature that appears, the name wasn't written separately. The GRO copy doesn't have original signatures on, to see the original you need to go to the local Registrar.
