Davies (1967) defines "Llannerch Aeron" as being a locality in the parish of Henfynyw, at grid reference SN 4760. Studying this area on the relevant Ordnance Survey Explorer map, shows a farm named "Pen-lan-ogle" at grid reference SN 484594, about 2¾ miles south-east of Aberaeron. The properties recorded in the 1881 census adjacent to the entry for "Penlawer Ogley" correspond with those neighbouring Pen-lan-ogle on the map so I think there is no doubt that this is where your Samuel Davies died, and where he was living in 1881.
