Hi Jojo! As Juile and John have pointed out Penboyr is a definite parish in Carmarthenshire. "Cernan" is almost certainly a mis-hearing or mis-spelling but, knowing how far out the latter can sometimes be, I wonder whetehr it's worth considering "Abernant, some 8 miles from Penboyr (in Carmarthenshire).
