    3. Please could sks help me. I have a marriage certificate for my 2 x great grand parents, they were married in 1854 at the Parish Church, Llanbadarn Fawr, their names were Isaac GRIFFITHS and Elizabeth THOMAS. I would like to know if there is a name for this Church. Thanks Ann Ontario Canada.

    3. Hi Anne! The village and the Curch take their name from St. Padarn, the saint to whom the Church is dedicated. This magnificent old building once enjoyed almost cathedral status and the parish included the nearby town of Aberystwyth which for many years had only a small chapel (St Michael's) annexed to the parish church of Llanbadarn Fawr. My son and his wife were married there and, last year, on their 10th anniversary, they brough their younger son to St Padarn's for his baptism.     3. Ann Llanbadarn Fawr is just outside Aberystwyth, to the west.
