Hannah, Perhaps Henry's occupation might be a clue as to why he was in Llanychaiarn in 1881 and, from the birthplace of his daughter, in Llanbadarn (Fawr) the previous year, anyway. Did he have a position as a servant or was he possibly involved in mines? SPINKS isn't a name commonly found in Cardiganshire. You can obtain the 1891 Census for Llanychaiarn on microfiche from the LDS FHC. If they had more children in Llanychaiarn, the Bishop's Transcripts are available from them on microfilm. Unfortunately, the BT's for Llanbadarn Fawr (parish church) are missing 1880 and 1881. Ordering his daughter's birth certificate directly from the Superintendent Registrar's Office at Aberystwyth would give you his residence at the time of her birth and his wife's maiden name. It's possible they married there, as well, so you might ask them to look for their marriage certificate at the same time (ca. 1879/80.)
