I agree your ideas about answering to the list are admirable, but WHY must you copy the entire letter instead of writing a 1 sentence summary and then answering? It takes up soooo much space unnecessarily, especially when some of the letters already are trailing clouds of letters themselves. No list could have better help than Gareth and Julie, but you are two of the culprits. Not all of us can add 30-40 letters to our mailing lists daily by using the L option from our Rootsweb sources. PLEASE reconsider your habit. Thanks!

Lyn, Guilty as charged. It appears this must be a pet peeve of yours. I confess that after attempting to formulate cohesive, informative replies to perhaps a dozen people per day (on and off this list plus Dyfed, Powys and Montgomeryshire lists), some involving as much as 30 mins. to an hour of my time in order to provide that person with valuable information, there are times when I neglect to scroll down and delete the previous thread. In fact, I make it a particular *point* to include the message to which I am replying as the point of reference. If, after donating my time and efforts to help others, I neglect to "summarize" the previous message as you suggest, I sincerely hope I may be forgiven this transgression, now and in the future.
