GENUKI: The UK & Ireland Genealogical Information Service Some 5 years ago, I am on record as suggesting onlist that Genuki was something of a maze to navigate --- needing a route map on my Help Page, which didn't please the local Genuki maintainer at the time ! But since then, poacher turned gamekeeper, I have got heavily involved in Genuki myself. It was therefore a sort of natural justice when someone this week politely suggested much the same thing about Genuki to me :-) So, a simple tour of Genuki Wales then. Think of it as pyramid shape, the main Wales page on top. | >From the Wales page, link below my name, there are downward links to a set of pages for each Welsh county. | | | Each county has a main page, and if you click on the Towns & Parishes link at the top of each one you will go to a list of the parishes in that county, each parish name being a direct link to that parish page. | | | | | The parish page is the main building block, on there you'll find data in a standard format, with links to other sites of interest. But Wales is only one part of Genuki [the most important of course], go up one level from the Wales page and you can go back down similar pyramids for the other areas of the UK & I. And also from there are links to a wealth of general genealogy data pages. You may sometimes feel 'lost in the wilderness' after clicking link after link, but if you have the Genuki Wales page prominent in your browser's Favourites list you will always have a quick route home !
