I was beginning to think that everyone in the parish was called Jones - "a perpetual incognito" - but then discovered that my Griffith Jones born abt 1796 was the son of John Samuel. So he just wanted to be like everyone else! As to your query about Llainddu, have you looked at Land Tax records?
