    3. Thanks John. The photos form a book published around 1912 which I think may have been produced by the Cambrian News (at least, the Ceredigion Museum advises that that is likely). So there would be a copyright problem. Many of the photos were taken by the early Aber photographer Gyde It is an interesting volume as it shows most of the streets in Aberystwyth (including the characteristic style of the houses in Caradog Road, the Buarth and so on), various churches, the castle, the then new Llyfrgell Genedlaethol and many surrounding beauty spots. Pontarfynach/Devil's Bridge, Llyfnant Valley, Cwm Einion, a rather juvenile Plascrug and even Talyllyn feature. Big houses occupied by the 'uchelwyr' like Hafod, Abermad, Nanteos, Lovesgrove and even Wallog are all there. The photo of Devil's Bridge only has two bridges! Not much of the humbler cottages and places that my ancestors frequented (which ARE present in 'Aberystwyth and North Ceredigion in old photos', which I indexed for Gareth for GENUKI a few years ago---huge contrast in subject matter)! There is one small photo of Goginan (and one of the 'stag' in the Rheidol valley) and a few of Bow Street and Talybont, Borth and Ynyslas. The remarkable thing is just how much is almost identical today.
