    3. Richard, You may use one of the mail servers my ISP won't accept mail from -- I know I've recently been told Ameritech will not accept mail from anyone using Clara.net because the mail server they use allows SPAM to get through. (That's just the reason they gave me!) Will catch your reply via the list(s), though. 1. [WLS-CARDIGANSHIRE] Re: [WLS-PEMBROKESHIRE] A reminder
    2. Gareth
    3. Thanks for the input Kate. It could be that Dyfed-L listers have heard enough from me recently on the new lists subject but I'll copy this there, and CGN, to keep them up to date with matters. As Dyfed-L [ 432 ] is still very much bigger than WLS-Pem[ 46 ] and WLS-Cgn [ 24 ] in subscriber numbers and still *does* cover Pem, Cgn and Cmn then of course it makes sense from a researcher's point of view to use Dyfed-L as well , even to the extent of double posting. It's early days yet but whilst the new lists are getting established, and the Dyfed list's function is unchanged, then some duplicate mail is the least of our problems, I think. I would beg to differ on one point you make, I would never have described Dyfed-L as a busy list, Glamorgan, yes. My suggested "survival" plan for you is to subscribe to all the lists in Digest mode, and only open mails that look of interest to you personally. I do realise that does require us all to give a little bit more thought to creating relevant subject line content ! Gareth List Administrator for Dyfed, CGN & PEM. 1. Re: [WLS-CARDIGANSHIRE] Samuel Davies
    2. Julie Preston
    3. Richard, I presume you already have Samuel DAVIES' entry in the 1881 Census? If not, let me know and I can have a look for him. I don't know where you're located in the UK, but if there's an LDS (Mormon) Family History Centre in your area, you can easily order the microfilms of the Bishop's Transcripts for the parish of Cilcennin and search for the baptism of your Samuel DAVIES ca. 1836, as well as any marriages he might've made there, although the years 1858-1862 are missing. The BT's end in 1873. If he lived there during his earlier marriages, you might find the burial entries of his previous wives and baptisms of any earlier children he may have had. Additionally, the LDS have microfilmed the UK census returns, so you can order the film for the 1841 census for the parish of Cilcennin, and perhaps you'll also want to find him there in 1851. Armed with what you find in the 1841 census, you'll be able to check for the marriage of Samuel's parents and baptisms of any of his siblings, as well, if they were all in Cilcennin. As an alternative to the LDS FHC's, there's always the PRO at Kew and the FRC, Myddleton Place, London.
