    3. I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a copy of the Statement by the Executors of the estate of Robert Roberts, Tanydderwen, Llanllechid. It gives details of payments made e.g. for the gravestone and coffin and also of the division of the monies left. His 7 children each received £10 16sh 10d!The statement is dated 19th day of June 1901. My question is how long after the death of Robert Roberts would his affairs have been sorted out. I am trying to find out when he died. Many thanks Pat Chapman

    3. It could be up to a year in normal circumstances and even longer in exceptional circumstances - I've just been studying a whole run of wills and was surprised by how consistently long the periods tended to be. 3. With the info you already have, you could easily find the date of death in the Probate Calendars - partly in large index books at Caernarfon R.O. and on microfilm at most archives. Why don't you simply send for a copy of the Will from the Sub-Registry in York?
