WILLIAM ROBERTS/MARIANA OWEN LINE Not sure of William Roberts’ origins yet. May be Thomas and Dorothy Roberts of Eglwys Rhos. If so he was bapt. at Llan Rhos July 26, 1795. Mariana OWEN and William ROBERTS (as of now of unprovable origin) had an illegitimate son in 1819 - William ROBERTS b/s/o Mariana Owen and William Roberts bapt. Feb. 5 . William and Mariana are shown as servants at Gloddaeth. l don’t know if young William went by the name of Owen or Roberts. 1820 Mariana OWEN, d/o Robert Owen and William ROBERTS married Dec. 9, 1820, Llandudno Besides William above they had the following children at Pant y Ffynnon, Nant y Gamar: 1821 Mary Roberts 1823 Jane Roberts 1825 Elizabeth (who, with Owen Lloyd in 1847 had an illegitimate daughter, Dorothy - no marriage between Elizabeth and Owen Lloyd found; in 1851 and 1861 Dorothy was living at Pant-y-Ffynnon with William and Mariana but Elizabeth was not. Dorothy does not appear after 1861 but she’d have been in her early 20s so would be gone. 1827 Robert no information 1829 Thomas no information 1832 Catherine (who married David Edwards in 1857, had son William. Both David and William died 2 years later of scarlet fever. Daughter Catherine Edwards was born around this time.
