Dear list, I am hoping someone might be able to help with a conundrum I have relating to an Evan Jones of Pantgwyn (alias Tan y Bryn), Llanengan who witnessed the will of my ancestor Griffith Jones, Siop, Penycaerau, in 1844. The other witnesses I have ruled out as direct relations of Griffith but Evan I am still interested in as a possible brother. I am waiting for the relevant wills of Jonesiaid of Tan y Bryn/ Pant Gwyn but wonder if the whole lot of them relate to the John Jones, "lad" (ie servant) of Nanhoron who was given the tenancy of Tan Y Bryn at the turn of the 19th century - around 1800? Does anyone know any articles or books that may help or is any list member interested in the same family? TC Griffith - that notablen of Lleyn - has John Jones in his chart no. 171 and says "teulu John Dilwyn Williams". Does that mean anything to a member of the list? Wd appreciate any help as have had to do a lot of detective work in trying to find out Griffith's earlier connections! I think I may be on to something BUT... !
