Hi Mark, Don't ignore "Lloyd George's Domesday", the survey of all dwellings about 1910. It's not on-line, but it's a fabulous resource - at Kew. I'm still pretty green to all this researching lark and have mostly been looking in census returns and the BMD indexes. I've briefly been on the Gwynedd Archives and National Library of Wales but found them not very 'search friendly'. I'm not sure where I should be looking or what I should expect TBH. My immediate problem lies with a certain 'John PARRY' father and 'John PARRY' son both mariners and both missing of the census returns I have looked at. I've got a lead in the 1901 census and have the son's marriage cert in 1894 and Hugh Street, Bangor as his abode. There seems to be a page or pages missing or something for Hugh Street in the 1891 census which I was hoping was the JP family home as JP senior was deceased on the 1894 marriage cert and I don't have a spouse name. I hoped that finding who bought/sold during these times might shed some light on things, but I'm pretty stuck really :( Thanks again, Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: I Thompson To: WLS-CAERNARFONSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2006 9:07 AM Subject: [CAE] RE: House sales and purchases Dear Mark, I assume you have tried the Gwynedd Archives and National Library of Wales websites which are very helpful? Denbighshire RO also has an online search engine.
