    2. Hello everybody, I have joined this list to try and discover more about my recently discovered 4x Gt Grandparents Thomas & Eleanor HIGHLAND. Thomas was born c1787 in Romney Marsh, Kent - the reason for his being in Wales was that he was a member of the Coast Guard & its forerunners. He presumably married Eleanor at her Parish Church c1817ish. From the 1851 Census of Anglesey Eleanor was recorded as being born c1788 in Llanwyan, Caernarvonshire (because this is no doubt the anglicised spelling of a Welsh village name and as such I have been unable to locate this place. However, could it possibly be either Llangwyfan or Llanwyn? - I believe both of which to be in Caernarvonshire). What would have been the Parish church covering this/those area(s)? According to the IGI 2 of their children were baptised at Llanengan, Caernarvonshire in 1818 & 1819. Again which church would have covered this area & is Llanengan near Llanwyan? By 1823ish the family were on Anglesey (Cem(m)aes) - but I assume that is a question for another list? If anybody has come across any Highland references or can assist with the locations and churches - it would be very much appreciated. Regards Darren Smith -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
