    2. Susan This may sound completely off the subject but are there any connections in the family to the Welsh/English border. "Ford" is found in many English town names. "de" could be a shortening of deau for "southern" "fawr" is great/large "Nuireford" could be a town name. In other words who ever was born in 1871 was born in a southern district. The immediate thought could be Hereford. There again I could be completely wrong Jude
