I had a quick dabble with the BMD entries trying to see if an entry would scream out at me but it looks like you may have a challenge on your hands! Searching for Maggie or Margaret of even Margaret Ann certificate will cause problems as which name was she actually registered under??!! What you may try to do is request a search at the GRO whith what are called "checkable" entries. But other than the method you are doing already there is not much else you can do. Writing to the incumbent of the church or searching _www.freebmd.org.uk_ (http://www.freebmd.org.uk) are other options which I think have already been offered as possible avenues to try.
