Hello I am searching for a marriage, hopefully in LLanllechid Parish. It has to be said that I am not certain it is there, but according to the staff at Caernarfon Archives. the parish register for the period I am looking for is still in the church itself. I did not think to ask whether anyone has transcribned them, or if there is any way to have a look-up done in the Llanllechid Marriages. I am hoping that someone on this list can help. Owen Jones born Holyhead ca 1856-8 married to Margaret born in Bethesda ca 1850. They lived at Rhyd Ddu in Caernarvonshire on the 1891 Census and 1901 Census. They had a child in 1880 ergo I am looking for a marriage between 1870 and 1880 probably. I am assuming that its a good bet, that becasue Margaret came from Bethesda she would have been married at aLLanllechid Church or else at one of the chapels in the area. They were not married in Betws Garmon nor in Beddgelert, which are the placeswherre their children were born. I have had no success with teh GRO Index on line,wihtout a surname for Margaret it doesnt seem possible to get a match. Any help gratefully accepted! Hi, If I were you I would write to the incumbant of the Llanllechid parish and give him the details for looking up the entry for you and offer a donation to the Church. It has worked for me! T.
