Hi Bill Just a thought.... A few years back when visiting the Archives in Llangefni, Anglesey, I copied various Hughes marriages from the 'Marriages Notice Bk' It appears to work like the Banns would. It does not cover all of Anglesey but I have entries for Holyhead amongst them. Is it possible that your Owen Jones would have had to record notice in his own parish? I have notes that these notices started from at least 1837 and have copied enteries as late as 1912. This is a long shot but as the books are in date order it might be worth a try.
