Carol , Thanks for the response. My interest in Thomas Pennant is mainly in the fact that his tour in wales is supposed to mention the farm Ty Canol in Nant Gwrtheryn , Pistyll , Caernarvonshire and my family lived there in the early 1800's.I am interested to know if there are any details of the family in the book. I would be very grateful to you for the contact details (email if possible) for the Pennant Group to see if they can provide me with an extract from the book that mentions Ty Canol. Thanks again for your offer of help Best Regards Paul ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Cross" <cacrosswales@hotmail.com> To: <WLS-CAERNARFONSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 16, 2006 6:40 AM Subject: [CAE] Thomas Pennant > Dear Paul, > There is a Pennant Group based in the Holywell area and if you want I can > give you the address. There is 5 walks in the Holywell area which are > footpaths that Thomas Pennant walked over 200 years ago. > I too Im very interested in Thomas Pennant having lived in the area all my > life and marrying in Whitford Church.I have research him myself andmy goal > is to have a reprint/s of Moses Griffths paintings, he was the artist who > travellede with him and did the illustations in his books. > If you can you should read the article written by Dr R Paul Evans----Ive > been to his lectures----excellent.He writes Thomas Pennant 1726-1798 The > Father of Cambrian Tourists-----or the great man that Wales forgot?
