I did find a record of a the possible christening of the father William Thomas listed at Llandegai on 17 Feb 1822 - (parents = William & Mary Thomas) - although I have not been able to confirm this.     3. Bryn, One trick if have used in getting "around" census info is taking a look at neighbors. Sometimes, the neighbors remain in the same area and ancestors are also there, but for some reason listed under another name. I have used this technique to find a lot of lost relatives. The results are sometimes stunning, gross misspellings, patronymics AND misspelling, living with another family and THAT family surname is "attached" to the subject family. Anyway, I thought I would offer this suggestion, and I hope maybe it might work for you.
