Hi List I wondered if anyone had a particular interest or first hand knowledge in Llanaelhaearn and Trevor particularly the granite quarry and tenant farming community. I am looking at a Robert William Jones born circa 1896 who lived with his wife Sarah and 5 children Nancy, Megan Myfanwy 1917-1983, Dilys Mair 1920-1990,Sarah Eiriona 1923-1953 and Robert Maldwyn 1926 -1989 at Tanyfynwent Llanaelhaearn during the 1920s. I have him (RWJ) working as a coal miner in Bargoed in 1915, living in Nefyn in 1948 and then Birmingham( without the family) from 1949 until his death in 1958. Other occupation I have found include blocker in the sett quarry, solicitors clerk, wages clerk and furniture dealer. There may be a connection to farming either pre 1915 or in the period from 1926 to 1948. I have traced the whole family to the churchyard in Llanaelhaearn but have no dates for Nancy who I believe died at around 18 years old. This family may be within living memory and I should be grateful to anyone who can provide any further details or background information. Yours hopefully Mardon --------------------------------- Yahoo! Cars NEW - sell your car and browse thousands of new and used cars online search now ---------------------------------

The parish of Llansanffraid Glan Conwy, Denbighshire is in the Diocese of St. Asaph, so for pre-1858 wills you need to look at St. Asaph records at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth. In a meeting of the Caernarfon branch of Gwynedd Family History Society on Thursday there was a discussion about the lack of family history record keeping programmes available in the Welsh language. This is a cause of regret to a number of Welsh speaking family historians. It was noted that PAF is already available in a number of languages, so might possibly be capable of being translated into Welsh I have contacted the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who are responsible for the programme to enquire if it would be possible for society members to co-operate in translating PAF into Welsh. I received this reply: **************** Thank you for your willingness to help make PAF better. I have forwarded your remarks to the engineers for further review. We appreciate your service!
