    3. It is not really a case of no detail in rural areas, there are plenty of rural areas with good resolution coverage and plenty of urban areas with poor coverage. Unfortunately North West Wales is low resolution but they are adding new coverage regularly so sure it will come. I think some of North East Wales has higher resolution. I started some time ago making up a folder of Placemarks for various places associated with my family so that I could give copies to other people interested in the family. 3. Hi, Really just starting on my Welsh ancestry......doing quite well thus far. Found my g'mother's family in the 1881census, family of William Williams in Pawllheli. Rachael Jones was listed as a widowed g'mother from Aberdaron, 68 yrs. old. Since then, I think I might have found her in the 1851 census at Scifton Square, Pawillheli. Widowed, 36, with 2 daughters...Anne Jones and Elizabeth 2. If this is the family, Elizabeth would be my g'grandmother, the age matches the 32 year old Elizabeth Williams in 1881 was 2 in 1851. Rachael's age is off by 6 years between the 2 census, but that could be a misread, wrong information from someone in the household, or some other mistake. Guess I need to find Rachael's husband to complete that part of the family. Anne Williams would be my grandmother, daughter of William and Elizabeth. Good to hear from you, Maggi Regards, Millie

    3. It may be worth all knowing about www.rhiw.com - an excellent website for Aberdaron/Rhiw people and history. The census for much of Lleyn in 1861 is there as well as much more. As I have done a lot of research in and around Aberdaron, albeit focussing, of course, on my family and their locale in Bodrydd, I am very happy to answer queries if people are armed with a few basic facts like places and dates and am best pre 1800. 3. You can find Aberdaron IGI references under the batch number C082651. There are 3 Rachels born 1803 +/- 5 years - two, daughters of a John Jones and Anne, one daughter of John Roberts and Catherine. Aberdaron baptisms also occurred in Pen Lon CM Chapel, Pwllheli as well as other parishes at this time so these 3 data aren't exhaustive. Might give you something to go on and would be a good idea to look for the marriage of Rachel through birth records for the daughter - giving you a husband name - and then looking for a marriage with help from the Dafyfdd Hayes marriage index if it proves difficult. Gwynedd Record Office, Caernarfon, may be able to do a limitted search for you which may give you more information. Any more than a quick look-up of one or two references will cost £12. 3. Hi, Doing a bit of searching in Wales. I find my great grandmother was Elizabeth Jones, daughteer of Rachael Jones from Aberdaron. Rachael was born in 1803...for now, that is all I know of the Jones line. Rachael's daughter Elizabeth married William P. Williams, lived in Pawllheli where my grandmother was born in 1878. Is there a connection you might know? I'm from the states and have only recently begun searching for those roots across the pond. Feel fortunate to have found grandparents marriage certificate and birth families thus far. The 1871 census connected me to the Jones name, birth years and place. Millie
