    3. Just checking my e-mail before going out. Will get back to you hopefully this evening. Could be family of my "Auntie" Esther (not a relative, just close family friend) when I was a child in the USA and later when I came here to live. I always remember that when we went up that way (Rhostryfan. I live in Bontnewydd) my Mother would mention that was where Auntie Esther was born. Have snapshots of her and her sister's children somewhere. Be in touch soon. Megan The most beautiful dog in the world is the one that looks at you with love. ----- Original Message ----- From: Alwyn ap Huw <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: 10 July 2004 21:57 Subject: [CAE] Pritchard Gaerddu and Jones Ty'n y Weirglodd Llanwnda > Iam trying to trace the family of Lewis PRITCHARD who was born in 1865 in Llanwnda. 3. Should this be Llanbedr Goch? Do you have a folio number from the reference in the census index as that should help you find out where your family were. 3. I'm almost certain that all the houses in Union Street have been demolished. If No.1 was on the corner of High Street, there might be part of the house incorporated into the commercial property (on High Street). Unfortunately, I have been unwell, and am unable at present to get into Bangor town to check this. 3. Hi, Came across this yesterday afternoon in the 1787 Quarter Sessions records catalogue and thought it might be of interest to someone. Gwynedd Archives Ref: XQS/1787/154. Michaelmas Session. True copy from the Register of Llangybi, that Richard, son of Rowland Prichard and his wife Catherine Morris, was baptised on 3 April 1715. As he is now over seventy years of age he can be exempted from jury service. Appended: Granted. Regards, Keith.

    3. May I thank Arlene and David for their kind responses to my plea. I am currently 'doing it the hard way' trawling through the Liverpool 1861 census where my JONES purportedly came from. Having found a 'possible', I have a marriage in FreeBMD but that was for Bangor, whilst on the census William's POB was Beaumaris. Beaumaris on my map appears not to be far from Bangor but in Anglesey and with Bangor on the mainland this created some doubts in my mind. I had hoped they might be in the same Reg District, which they are and I will now ask for the marriage cert. Kind regards, Roger Jones I have transcribed for FreeCen. www.freecen.or.uk
