Here is the info I have about Hannah M.(Dolan)Akey. It is from Elizabeth (White) Akey who was married to Lawrence Akey. Sad to say she has passed away. She did extensive research on Ethier,Akey/Atchey family. >From the 1923 "History of Wood County" Page 405 Hannah M.Akey, for many years the proprietor of the Akey Cafe in Wisconsin Rapids. She was born in Emily, Ontario, Canada, 13 Jan. 1863, daughter of James & Mary (Callahan) Dolan. Her father came from County Kilkenny, Ireland, born 1827 and came to America in 1842. Hannah married Eugene Akey, by which she had three children: Maude E. (Mrs. James Brockman), Ivah, who died at age 18 and Cleveland living at Port Edwards. In 1890 Mrs. Akey was left with three children and she established Akey's Cafe at 705 W. Grand Ave., which she continued to operate for 32 years, until March 1922. Mrs. Akey is a devout Catholic active in many church activities. She is a strong prohibitionist and suffragust, believing in equal rights. She was gratified when she could cast her first vote. (end) I have another article from Elizabeth which is three times longer than this. If you would like to have it let me know and I will send it too. I think it may be from the Newspaper in the Rapids, it doesn't say where she got it. Best regards, Shirley
