Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec 15 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville. Elder Alex Romanov will officiate. Music will be provided by organist Pat DALTON and soloist Ella KOBZEV. Carl was born October 11, 1946 in Marshfield to the late Franklin and Dorothy (HAZELTON) MEITNER. He was educated at Bethel Junior Academy and later earned his GED. He married Kathleen BATTERTON November 26, 1972, in Marshfield. Carl was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Esser Trucking of Arpin and worked part time at Figi's. He worked for the co-op at the fertilizer plant in Auburndale. The MEITNER's also operated an Adult Foster Home. Carl was a past member and served as inspector for the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department. Carl is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of Arpin; two sons, Fredrick "Chuck" MEITNER of Sheboygan Falls and Steven MEITNER of Marshfield; two daughters, Karalyn WALKER of Arpin and Kelly MEITNER at home; three grandchildren, Alexander BUCHANAN-MEITNER, Meredith MEITNER and Briana WALKER; his mother, Leah GRAHAM of Arpin; three half-sisters, Colleen (Patrick) DENKE of Black Hawk, South Dakota, Bernice (Daniel) REUDEN of Marshfield, and Belle (Larry) DERTEL of Rudolph; two half-brothers, Brian MEITNER of Marshfield and Bernie DRACKLEY of Pittsville; aunts and uncles, Lola GAGAS of Stevens Point, George MEITNER of Rhinelander, Irene OMERNICK of CA, and Christy STELTENPOHL of Stevens Point. He was preceded in death by one brother, Frankie and one half-brother, Billy. Buchanan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
