Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Rev Gary M. ALBERT officiated, Jolene ALBERT was organist and interment was made in the Arpin Cemetery in the Town of Arpin. Serving as pallbearers were James and Jeff Knutson, Charles Wellnitz, Sam Guralski, Gary Carlson Sr. and Gary Carlson Jr. Mr WELLNITZ was born Oct 23, 1924, in Spencer, to Charles and Anna (BALLAS) WELLNITZ. He attended Spencer schools and was married to Nina M KNUTSON on August 20, 1955, in Wisconsin Rapids. He was employed as a trimmer operator at Consolidated Papers Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids for 34 years, retiring in October 1986. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards with his friends, and especially his granddaughters. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Nina WELLNITZ; his children, Ron (Lisa) WELLNITZ of Arpin and Sandra WELLNITZ and her special friend, Dave CALLIES of Arpin; three granddaughters; and his sister-in-law, Rosanna WELLNITZ of Vesper.
