Funeral services were held Tuesday at St Joachim's Catholic church, Pittsville, with Rev Donald BERG officiating, and burial in St. Joachim's Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by Palmer-Ritchie-Thomas Post 153 American Legion of Pittsville. Pallbearers were Scott SCHOLZEN, Ronnie SCHOLZEN, James GORST, Charlie DANICHEFSKY, Terry PARKER and Al McNAMEE. Music was provided by pianist Lois KREMER. Harold was born Mar 1, 1923 in Racine to John Henry and Gertrude (WIRTZ) SCHOLZEN. He was educated at Altdorf. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II from 1943-46 in the 82nd Air Borne Division and as a MP. He married Elizabeth Irene SCHLORB on Jun 16, 1950 in Washington, DC. He was employed as a deliveryman for Raulin Standard Oil Company in Wisconsin Rapids for 28 years, retiring in 1988. They had lived in Shreveport, LA, returning one month ago. Harold was a 38 year member of Palmer-Ritchie-Thomas Post 153 American Legion of Pittsville, the D.A.V. and the Pittsville Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) of Pittsville; and his children, Bob (Sue) and James of Shreveport, Lee (Judy) of Owen, Paul (Steph) of Vesper, Sandy (Dave) OLSON and Betty Ann (Doug) GORST of Pittsville, Jeff (Agnes) of Arpin, Gertrude (Steve) CAHILL of Chatanooga, TN, Ida SCHOLZEN of Pittsville and Joe (Linda) of Arpin; 24 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Katherine WRAY of Fridley, MN, Helen DISTAD of Mitchville, MD, Rosella SCHIEBL of Palmer, AK, Mary MILLER of Enola, PA, Frances (Floyd) OLSON of New Brighton, Irene BIEDLE of Wisconsin Rapids, and Dorothy (Pat) RYAN of Minot, ND; three brothers, Edward (Lois) of Minneapolis, MN, Glenroy (Jan) of Hill City, MN, and Richard (Peggy) of Prior Lake MN. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ann PITMAN and Agnes PEZUTTI; four brothers, Bernard, Norbert, Donald and Thomas.
