Leo was a 48 year resident of Watertown and member of St Bernard's church. He was born Feb 22, 1901, in Pittsville, to Hugh and Katherine (STERNAD) McLAUGHLIN and was the third of seven children while his father was in the stave business. In 1933 he moved to Gering, NE to work at the North Platte Valley Non-Stook Cheese Company. He married Viva "Vi" Mary RIDGE on Sep 15,1 938 in Scotts Bluff Co, NE. With their daughter, Catherine Louise KIOKOW, they moved to Watertown in 1943. Leo works for the USDA from 1955 to 1979. During his 66 year career he spent many memorable vacations hunting by horseback in WY. In retirement, he and Vi spent many enjoyable summers visiting family and friends in Gering. Leo is survived by his wife Vi, sisters Elizabeth (Gordon) BLUM and Genevieve (Bob) JEPSON of Manawa, daughter Catherine and son-in-law Gilbert Carl Herman KIOKOW of Stonebank; and many grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, his sisters and Fredona A HAMMEL of Pittsville. Graveside rites will be Thursday, November 5 at 10am at St Joachim's Cemetery, with Father Donald Berg officiating.
