Services were Friday at St. James Catholic Church, Vesper, and Reverend James BENZMILLER officiated. Burial was in St James Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Elsie was born April 16, 1908, in Sigel, to Michael and Mary (SWARICK) ADAMS. She married Everett BEAN on June 28, 1930, in Vesper. He died April 12, 1990. Elsie graduated from Lincoln High School and Wood County Normal Teacher's College. She taught for four years and later worked at the Vesper Post Office for 17 years. Elsie was a longtime member of St James Catholic Church in Vesper and belonged to the Parish Council of Catholic Women at the church. She also played the organ at St James for 55 years. Survivors include four children, Rosanne WELLNITZ, Russell (Charlotte) BEAN, David (Susan) BEAN and William (Nancy) BEAN, all of Vesper; one sister, Pauline CALNAN of Springfield, IL; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was also predeceased by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson. Ritchay Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, assisted the family. Joan M.
