Wi Obits Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/WoodObits/313 Surname: BENNEDICT, BIRON, BUBLOZ, THOMPSON, ZENIER ------------------------- George ZENIER Sr Obit taken from the Wood County Reporter, Thursday May 29, 1890 George ZENIER, Sr., 1815-1890 The uncertainty of death is vividly taught us in the passing away of Mr George ZENIER Wednesday morning. He retired Tuesday evening after planning his next day's work without a complaint as to any pain or unusual feeling. Wednesday morning, at about five o'clock, his wife awoke and found her husband had been dead several hours. Mr ZENIER had died as he always lived, at peace with all mankind. Mr George ZENIER was born in Metz, France, April 14, 1815 and came to this country when a young man, in 1839. He settled at New Orleans where he remained 14 years. He then moved to this city where he was married to Mrs Louise BUBLOZ in 1853. This union was blessed with three children, two boys and one daughter, all of whom survive him, George, Alex and Mrs Emma BENNEDICT. He also leaves his helpmeet and three step-children, two daughters and one son: Helen THOMPSON, who preceded him in death several years ago; Mrs Harriet BIRON, of Merrill, and Charley BUBLOZ, who resides near Plainfield, WI. Mr ZENIER was a kind and affectionate husband; an indulgent and devoted father; a kind neighbor and a good citizen with whom it was always a pleasure to meet. He was a man of good habits, industrious and sensitive to a fault. The funeral services will take place at the Opera House Saturday afternoon.
