ZP KIPP died at the home of his son Frank in Lindsay, in this county, on Wednesday last, in his eightieth year. Mr KIPP first set foot on the soil of Centralia, then a vast wilderness, more than fifty years ago, then being 1842. He did not remain here long at that time, but located at Lodi, in this state, where he resided about eleven years. He returned here in the year 1853, having been married in the meantime. He has since resided here continuously, except at such brief periods of time as he spent with his son Frank at Lindsay, where he has been during the past four or five months. Mr KIPP was the father of eight children, six of whom are living. Charles D KIPP is at present, and has been for a number of years, the principal of the public schools in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Frank D. KIPP is in business at Lindsay. Miss Stella M JACKSON has made her home with Mr and Mrs G J JACKSON since her mother's untimely death in 1873. Another child resides in the vicinity of Chippewa Falls, another in CA and another in ID. Mr KIPP was held in high esteem by those who knew him on account of his strict honesty and for his well-defined and outspoken opinions upon all public or economic questions. For a large number of years he held the office of city assessor and was only retired about a year and a half ago, when his failing faculties had incapacitated him for the discharge of the duties of that office. The funeral services were held at Union church on Friday forenoon, the funeral discourse delivered by Reverend JR Fretts. The pallbearers were Joseph W FREEMAN, Edward WHEELAN, Charles D LEINLEY, George A CORRIVEAU, RC and BT WORTHINGTON, all old and honored citizens. Peace be upon his ashes. Joan M.
