She was born in Marshfield on November 5, 1932, to John and Esther (PASTORIUS) HOFER and was a graduate of Pittsville High School. She married Orvan D HANSON on August 18, 1956, in Beloit, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1991. Ruth had been employed by Fairbanks Morse. She was a member of New Life Assembly of God, the VFW Auxiliary, Janesville Senior Center and volunteered for Youth for Christ. Ruth is survived by her three sons, Russell (Teresa) Hanson of Roscoe, IL, Robert HANSON and Gary (Lori) HANSON both of Janesville; three grandchildren, Justin, Taylor and Brooke; a brother, John (Sandy) HOFER of Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada; two sisters, Lillian ZIEMENDORF of Pittsville and Viola (Allan) GEORGSON of St Francis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Robert, Leslie, Albert and Harold HOFER; and two sisters, Lucille SAUNDERS and Leona HOFER. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 9, 2000 at New Life Assembly of God with Rev. Michael JACKSON officiating. Entombment was in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Memorials in Ruth's name may be made to New Life Assembly of God or to Haven House Hospice. Joan M.
