Wi Obits Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/WoodObits/265 Surname: HAHN, TIMM, WERNER ------------------------- Eva I WERNER Obit taken from the Pittsville Record, Volume 91 Number 30, August 3, 2000, Page 3 Columns 1 and 2 Eva WERNER 1900-2000 Eva I WERNER, 99, of Pittsville, was called to her eternal rest Friday July 28, 2000 at Bethel Center, Arpin, where she had resided for the last year and a half. Services were held Monday at St John's Evangelical Lutheran church, Pittsville. Rev Harold KEEKLEY officiated and burial was in Mound cemetery, Pittsville. Pallbearers were Russell PARKER, Richard and Marc SHERWOOD, Robert SHEA, Randy and David JOHNSEN, Ralph HOLLY and Michael PRIM. Ernest KIESLING was honorary pallbearer. Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, handled arrangements. Eva was born December 11, 1900 to John and Amelia (TIMM) HAHN in Wisconsin Rapids. She received a teaching degree from the Wood County Normal and taught in several elementary schools including Babcock, Vesper and Biron. In 1928 she married Shirley E WERNER of Pittsville, where they owned and operated the Pittsville Hardware Store until her husband's death in 1968. She was a former member of the Pittsville Board of Education, taught high school economics and was instrumental in initiating the hot lunch program for the school system, where she served as head cook for many years. Eva was a member of St John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Pittsville, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and became the first president of St John's Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was a member of the Pittsville Historical Society and served on the Education Board for many years. Eva enjoyed her flower gardens, crocheting doilies, decorating dolls, sewing, and had a great love of music. She also enjoyed writing poetry and stories, some of which were published in the "Good Old Days" magazine. Eva is survived by her three daughters, Patricia (Archie) PARKER of Springbrook, Mary Lou (Roland) SHERWOOD of Pittsville, and Marjorie (Richard) JOHNSEN of Escanaba, Michigan; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also pre-deceased by her parents, her sister Frances, and one grandchild. Memorials may be designated to St John's Evangelical Church Organ Fund in Pittsville.
