Ansil Hammel Pittsville- Services for Ansil L Hammel, 83, Star Route, Pittsville, will be at 11 am Thursday at St Joachim's Catholic Church, Pittsville. Mr Hammel died at 3:08 pm Monday at St Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient since Dec 20. Officiating at services will be the Rev Thomas J Rudolph, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Palmer-Ritchie American Legion Post of Pittsville. Mr Hammel was born Dec 21, 1893, in the town of Wood and managed the Pittsville Creamery for about 40 years, retiring about 17 years ago. He then farmed part-time. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Pittsville American Legion. He was also a member of Holy Name Society and Pittsville Senior Citizens Club. He married Fredona A McLaughlin at St Alexander's Catholic Church, Port Edwards. Survivors include his wife; four brothers, Daniel, Oconomowoc; Leonard, Torrance, CA; Claude, Shullsburg, WI ; and John, Mosinee; and two sisters, Mrs Louis Strcyzewski, Port Edwards; and Mrs Jesse DeWerff, Pittsville. A sister and a brother preceded him in death. Friends may call at Rembs-Kundinger chapel, Marshfield, today and at the church from 10 am Thursday until service time. There will be a combined St Joachim's parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 8 o'clock this evening at the funeral home.
