Funeral services were held Thursday May 3, 2001 at St John's Lutheran church, Pittsville, with Rev Tom HAHN officiating. Burial was in Mound cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. Lawrence was born December 23, 1917 in the Town of Hansen to Herman and Bertha (HAHN) HERZBERG. He was educated at North Hansen School. He was married to Madeline DeBEVEC October 25, 1939 in Dubuque Iowa. She died February 15, 2000. Lawrence worked on the home farm and was employed as a Teamster at Roddis Lumber in Marshfield. He was later employed as a carpenter/millwright for Boldt Construction Company. They also farmed in the Town of Wood. Lawrence had resided at Deerview Meadows in Wisconsin Rapids, and entered Family Heritage April 13. Lawrence was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and the Carpenter's Union. He is survived by four daughters, Jean (Glen) KNUTSON of Arpin, Janice (Donald) RASMUSSEN of Pittsville, Julie (Glen) HARTSOUGH of Pittsville, and Joan HERZBERG of Marshfield; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clara POTTS of Pittsville and Ella (Leon) GRIMM of Arpin; and one brother, Leonard HERZBERG of Nekoosa. He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, David John, in infancy; one brother, George; and one sister, Mabel THIEL. Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, assisted the family. Joan M.
