Funeral services were held Monday April 30, 2001 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, with Rev. James Benzmiller officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Pete was born May 5, 1951 in Wisconsin Rapids to Albert and Inez (LIEBENSTEIN) ROKUS. He was educated at Springlake and Vesper grade schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1969. He attended Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids and was employed for a short time at Consolidated Papers. Pete married Cindy TURNER June 24, 1972 in Wisconsin Rapids. The marriage later ended in divorce. After marriage he was employed as an electrician at Marshfield Homes until 1977. Pete was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and enjoyed blues and rock bands. He is survived by one daughter, Kristin and her mother Cindy ROKUS of Oxford; his parents, Albert and Inez ROKUS of Vesper, two brothers, Paul (Joanne) ROKUS and children Paul, Michael and Courtney of Vesper and Daniel (Sarah) ROKUS and sons David and Aaron of Port Edwards; one sister, Joan (Andre) SHAURETTE and sons Jon and Daniel of Sigel; one great-aunt, Alpha ROKUS of Vesper; several aunts and uncles and many cousins. Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, handled arrangements. Joan M.
