Surnames: LORD, SMITH, STOWELL, WALKER Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DGC.2ACI/1468 Message Board Post: >From the Wood County Reporter [Grand Rapids, Wood Co., WI], Thursday April 11, 1895, Page 1 Monday, April 8th, 1895, will always record the date of a noble Christian woman's death in the person of Mrs. STOWELL who had been a patient sufferer for several months with Bright's disease in its severest form. She has been ailing for several years, but able to be about. She was born in Alleghany county, New York, and came west in 1865. She has lived in Wisconsin for thirty years, twenty of which has been passed in this city. Late years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. H. W. LORD. She leaves three daughters and one son to mourn her death: Mrs. H. W. LORD and Mrs. E. C. SMITH, of this city; Mrs. R. A. WALKER of Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. C. L. STOWELL of Hancock, Wis. Mrs. STOWELL was a kind, patient, Christian woman whose character is worthy of emulation and whose presence will be greatly missed. Her many friends mourn her departure. The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the house, Rev. Wm. Kilburne officiating.
