He has been a resident of the town of Plover for over half a century and was well honored and respected by all, as was shown by the large number of friends that came to show the last rights of respect at the funeral which was held Saturday March 7th, at the Maine school house, Rev. S DURLEE of the church of the United Brethern, of which he had been a devoted member for over twenty four years, officiating. He had been a consecrated christian over forty years. He was the last member of his father's family. His faithful wife and one son preceded him to the other shore a number of years ago. He leaves one son and six daughters to mourn their loss as follows: Ira GEEMES of Woodlawn, WA, Mrs MITCHER of Leola, WI, Mrs. CLEMENTS of Deadwood, Dakota, Mrs CAREY of Stevens Point, WI, Mrs WALTERS, Mrs SIMONDS, and Mrs Nelson NEWBY of Plover, WI of which only the four last mentioned were able to attend the funeral. The church, the home and the world have met with a loss that is hard to replace but I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, right blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth. Yea sayeth the spirit that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow.
