Sigl, 69, who came to Marshfield in 1912 to operate his place of business at 201 N. Central Ave, died at 11:50 oclock Friday night [November 20, 1942] at St Josephs Hospital, where he had been a patient since Oct 27. Death resulted from complications. The body will lie in state at the Rembs Funeral Home after 1 oclock Sunday afternoon and until the time of the funeral services Tuesday morning at 10 oclock at St. Johns Catholic Church.... Interment will be made in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery at Hillside. [Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, WI] Mr SIGL, son of the late Mr and Mrs Sebastian (Theresa SCHINK) SIGL, was born in Seymour Sep 27, 1873, and was married to Anna KELNHOFER Aug 28, 1900 at Luxemburg. Was Former Alderman In 1912 he came to Marshfield from Green Bay, where he had been a member of the Green Bay Police Department, and since that time had resided at 201 N. Central Ave. Mr SIGL, who was once appointed alderman of the Eighth Ward to fill an unexpired term, and who was re-elected to that position for two more consecutive terms, was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Order of Moose... Son in Service Surviving are his wife and 11 children, Miss Anna Sigl, at home; Mrs Oswald (Alvina) RENAULD, Kalamazoo, MI; Thomas SIGL, Marshfield; Mrs George (Margaret) GRINHAUG, Shawano; Mrs Arnold (Olga) LEY, Menomonee Falls; Irving SIGL, Marshfield, Richard SIGL, Madison; Mrs. Nick (Ruth) LAESSIG, Marshfield; Aviation Cadet James A SIGL, Kelly Field, TX; and Leo and Betty SIGL, Marshfield. Another daughter, Mary, died in 1924. Also surviving are five brothers, Anton SIGL, Marshfield, and Louis, Charles, William, and Edward SIGL, all of Seymour; a sister, Mrs Mary SEIDL, Seymour; and five grandchildren.
