HAHN passed away in her sleep March 3, 2001. Funeral services were at 10:30am Tuesday at St. Joachim's Catholic church, Pittsville, Rev James BENZMILLER officiated. Burial was in St Joachim's cemetery and pallbearers were Bill HAHN, Devin, Derek and Dustyn FREEDLUND, Bob RYAN and Jason BRANDT. She was born August 11, 1933 in Holcomb, IL, to Charles and Susan (BEHSELICH) HAWVER. Charlene married William HAHN in October 1950, and they had just celebrated 50 years of marriage at their favorite place, Door County. She was educated in Rockford, IL and at Maryheart in Pittsville. Before her marriage, Char worked at Rockford Dry Goods. Following her marriage to Bill, she was a homemaker and a volunteer in the surgical waiting room at St Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. From 1987 to 1994 she was employed at the hospital's gift shop. Charlene was a wonderful cook and creative. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She was a member of St Joachim's Catholic church, the PCCW and was past president of St Joachim's Home and School. She was a Girl Scout leader and very active with Pleasant Corners 4-H. Charlene's family was her whole world. She will forever be in our hearts and felt in our tears of sadness and in the joy of our happiness. Surviving are her husband, Bill HAHN, Jr. of Pittsville; her children, Steve (Joanne) HAHN of Cranmoor, Kristine SLATTERY of Elk Mound, Candace (Scott) FREEDLUND of Elk Mound, and Kala (Scott) ORGEL of Chetek; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother, James DOWD.
