HERNANDEZ, 47, of Vesper, died Wednesday Aug. 8, 2001, at her home. Services were Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. The Rev. Doug Schalow officiated. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. HERNANDEZ was born Feb. 5, 1954, in Marshfield, to Elroy and Edith (STANTON) SCHWARZE. She married Alfredo HERNANDEZ Sr. on Aug. 21, 1982, in Vesper. She was employed as a lab technician in the quality control department of Kerry Ingredients in Vesper for 22 years until the time of her illness. She was a graduate of Auburndale High School, a Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church, and a 4-H volunteer. Survivors include her husband, Al; one daughter, Miranda; four stepchildren, Alfredo (Tammy) HERNANDEZ Jr.; Allen HERNANDEZ; Anita HERNANDEZ, and Jennifer HERNANDEZ; five grandsons; two stepgrandchildren, Michael and Tiffany MCDANIELS; two brothers, Roy SCHWARZE, and Eldon SCHWARZE; and one sister, Judy MINERS. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother (Gary SCHWARZE). Taylor Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Even though her physical body was destroyed by leukemia, her spirit remains triumphant, for leukemia is so limited. It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot eat away peace, It cannot destroy confidence, It cannot kill friendship, It cannot shut out memories, It cannot silence courage, It cannot invade the soul, It cannot reduce eternal life, It cannot lessen the power of the resurrection.
