Funeral services were Monday, June 4, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. The Rev Doug Schalow officiated. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Vesper. Mrs KOHLS was born March 5, 1910, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Henry and Louise (MOSER) KRAGENBRINK. She attended Pleasant Valley School. She graduated from the eighth grade in 1923. She attended Pittsville High School and graduated in 1927. Alma attended and graduated from Wood County Normal School in 1929. She married Helmuth C. KOHLS on June 5, 1930, in Pittsville. He died Aug. 8, 1989. She taught at the Wallace and Snyder grade school and also farmed in the town of Hansen until 1989. Mrs KOHLS was a clerk at Crescent School for 15 years, and served as the town of Hansen treasurer for 12 years. She worked as a secretary for Wood County Co-op for 20 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and also was a member of Vesper Senior Citizens. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce (Norman) FEDERWITZ and Dorothy RIVARD, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one son, Ronald (Kathy) KOHLS, Mosinee; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She also was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Taylor Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
