SINGER, 87, of Pittsville, died Sept 6, 2001 at the Bethel Convalescent Center, Arpin, where she had resided for the past two years. Helen was born Nov 30, 1913 at Rangeline to Henry and Lena (GEBELEIN) OFLER. She was educated at St. Andrews Parish School in Rozellville. Helen married Carl G. SINGER in 1933 at St. Andrew’s Catholic church in Rozellville. They farmed in Auburndale, Milladore and Arpin. They moved to the Pittsville area and lived here for 55 years. Helen was a homemaker and also did seasonal work for cranberry marshes. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, and was a member of St. Joachim’s church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by six daughters, Geraldine SCHULTZ, Mildred (Percy) BUMP, Jr., Carol (George) SCHULTZ, Margaret (Joe) NORRIS Sr., Helen PETERSON, and Marie (Arthur) KONIECKI of Vesper; one son, Norbert (Janet) SINGER; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary SHIREK, Loretta BRUNKE and Delma (Bob) GALLES. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on Jan 5 1985; one daughter, Mary; three sons, John, Charles and Anthony; two brothers; one sister; and several grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday Sept 10, 2001 at St. Joachim’s Catholic church, Pittsville, with Rev. Donald Berg officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic church cemetery, Auburndale. Her grandchildren served as pallbearers. Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, served the family.
