    3. To Clean and fix tombstones. Just went to a monument dealer to find out about cleaning and fixing sandstone tombstones. To clean use a dish soap such as Dawn. Soak the tombstone with water. Then pour the soap on and use a gentle scrub brush, then wash off with water. Never use vinegar when the tombstone is not in the sun. It will color the tombstone. There is no good way they told me to fix a sandstone tombstone without damaging it more. They said the best way was to lay a slab of cement on the ground the size of the tombstone and when the cement is almost dry then lay the tombstone on it. Marlys nothergrandma@charter.net
