Funeral services were Thursday Jan 4, 2001 at St James Lutheran church, Necedah, with Rev John A SIEDSCHLAG officiating. Interment will be in Bayview cemetery, Necedah. Esther was born Oct 7, 1911 in the Wood county Town of Sigel, the daughter of Charles and Louise (APPEL) KLEVENE. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1929, and married Milton STRACK in 1933, and in the fall of 1934 they moved to Necedah, where Milton died in 1979. Esther's life was spent mostly in homemaking, caring for her family and also her parents until their deaths in 1969. In 1953 she was hired as head cook by the Necedah Area Schools, which she dearly loved, she held until her retirement in 1989. Esther was a member of St James Lutheran church since November 1934. She was an organizer of the first Lutheran Ladies Aid of St James, held many offices, and until recently was an active participating member. She enjoyed the outdoors, home and love of neighbors, family and friends. Survivors include: a daughter, Judith (Robert) LEY of Reston, VA; two sons, Robert STRACK of New Orleans, LA, and Jerald (Jean) STRACK of Pittsville, WI; five grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel EASTERLEY of Baltimore, MD. Her parents, husband, a son, David, who died in 1985 at the age of 49 years; a daughter, Bonnie Lou, who died in infancy; and two brothers, Robert and Arthur KLEVENE. Joan M.
