Burial will be made at Wisconsin Rapids. Mary PHELAN SAUNDERS was born the daughter of Mr and Mrs John PHELAN July 9, 1862 at Elkader, Clayton Co, IA. She was married to Charles HEADLEE on January 12, 1883. To this union one daughter, Grace, was born. Mr HEADLEE passed away June 6, 1889. She was married to William SAUNDERS Feb 2, 1892 at Ottumwa, IA. This union was blessed with four children: Mrs John PABST who passed away two months ago; Mrs Carl LUDEWIG, Pittsville; Mrs H I JOHNSON, Chicago; and Frank P SAUNDERS, Chicago. Surviving step children are W J SAUNDERS and Mrs John BULANEK, Oskaloosa, IA and Walter SAUNDERS, Williamson, IA. Fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive Mrs SAUNDERS. Although Mrs SAUNDERS had been ailing since November, her death was unexpected. The family has resided in Pittsville, since 1927, having moved here from IA.
